From June 26 to 29, the historic Venetian winery will be present at Argentario throughout the 82nd edition of Italy’s most prestigious golf tournament
Monte Argentario (GR), June 23, 2025 – Allegrini, the historic wine producer from Valpolicella, has been confirmed for the second consecutive year as the Official Wine Supplier of the Italian Open, the most important international tournament organized by the Italian Golf Federation. The 82nd edition will take place from June 26 to 29 at the Argentario Golf Club in Monte Argentario (GR), Tuscany.
Following last year’s edition in Cervia (RA), this ongoing partnership for the 2024–2025 biennium reaffirms Allegrini as the exclusive official wine provider for the event. A symbol of conviviality and pleasure, wine will once again take center stage at the 2025 Italian Open. During this prestigious international golf tournament, Allegrini’s renowned labels will accompany moments off the course, offering players the chance to relax, toast, and fully enjoy the event’s unique atmosphere—where sport, taste, and sharing come together.
Allegrini will be featured throughout the tournament in the Hospitality area, both in the Restaurant and the Bistrot, delivering a high-quality wine experience for all guests. Among the wines available will be the Valpolicella Classico Superiore, an elegant, sleek red wine with notes of strawberry, cherry, and red plum, complemented by subtle hints of wood and dried rose; the Lugana Oasi Mantellina D.O.C., a white wine of great finesse and balance, with intense and complex aromas of white flowers and ripe fruit; the Palazzo della Torre, an iconic and innovative wine that has cemented Allegrini’s international reputation thanks to its unmistakable, elegant, and harmonious style; and the Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG, a benchmark of Italian winemaking excellence, known for its complex structure, aromatic intensity, and perfect balance between power and finesse.
Allegrini wines will also be served at the tournament’s opening event, held on Tuesday, June 24 at 7:00 PM, at the seaside venue Il Tramonto in Orbetello (GR).
“We’re proud to once again be the official wine supplier for such a high-profile sporting event,” said Luca Ardiri, Sales Director at Allegrini Wines. “From the beginning, we embraced this project with the aim of taking wine beyond traditional circuits, bringing it closer to the world of sports. We strongly believe in the value of wine as a tool for connection, as it brings people together, fosters bonds, and encourages meaningful exchange. We are truly delighted to support such an exclusive sporting event that shares our commitment to positive values. Events like this offer wine the perfect setting to tell its story in a fresh and authentic way.”
The 82nd Italian Open, under the patronage of the Tuscany Region, will welcome 150 players from around the world. The competition will be played over 72 holes—18 per day. At the end of Friday, June 27, the top 65 players will qualify for the finals on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June, when the winners will be announced. A limited-edition Jéroboam of Boizel Champagne Brut Réserve, distributed in Italy by Allegrini Wine Distribution, will be awarded as a prize. This distribution arm was established by the Allegrini family to complement its own wines with a curated selection of Italian and international labels that reflect similar philosophies and respect for tradition.
In addition to the excitement of the tournament, starting at 9:00 AM on Thursday, June 26, visitors can also participate in the Try Golf initiative. Thanks to the instructors of the PGAI (Italian Association of Golf Professionals), curious newcomers can experience 15-minute introductory golf lessons designed to introduce them to the charm of the sport in an easy and engaging way.
